Photonic Processor Project
OPTOPC SA introduces a novel paradigm for the computer industry with its photonic processor, designed for the analysis of large volumes of heterogeneous data. It enables extremely fast processing with minimal energy consumption.
Our patented hardware configuration implements a highly-performing parallel-optical digital computing system by exploiting the physical properties of the light propagating in a plurality of liquid crystal cells.
Unlike traditional solutions based on distributed computing, OPTOPC aims to provide a viable technological answer to the problems related to the parallel execution of processes, which are typical bottlenecks in computing.
The OPTOPC photonic processor offers several advantages, including:
- An intrinsic massive parallelism of data processing
- Low power consumption
- Representation of multiple sets of input data
- Simultaneous execution of multiple operations
- No heat emission and no need for cooling systems
- No susceptibility to external vibrations
- Imperviousness to electromagnetic interference
